Oscar is my beautiful Labrador pictured here with his friends Rosie the Chihuahua and Treasure the cat.

Like a lot of Labradors Oscar has always had a weight problem which was made worse by a knee reconstruction and a hip operation when he was younger, which means exercise is not a simple thing.

​

Oscar has been on a diet his whole life, but simply limiting his food intake did not work and made him very grumpy.  So I decided to create some beautiful home made food while strictly counting calories to ensure he did not gain more weight.

​

I made delicious rissoles from lean kangaroo meat that were full of flavour and goodness and this is what he still has for his main meal today.

​

Now that I had his main meal sorted I turned to finding a way to give him some treats that were both healthy and tasty and this is where the flavoured beef jerky was created.

​

I decided that since Oscar and Rosie loved their treats so much I should share that with other people and then I decided to create some other special occasion treats for those dogs that don't have a weight problem or just deserve something special every now and again, and Oscar's Kitchen was created.
